O2, THE Meeting point in Tripoli

O2 - since 1997 a meeting point for Libyans and foreigners of all genres. Located right on the sea, although, there are better beaches in Libya, it is one of the places that are well known.
The owner, Mouad (with french roots), has managed to attract also the french speaking community before the revolution. At noon, many mothers came with their kids from the nearby french school to have some of the well known pankcakes with Nutella.
O2 was even open during the revolution and served as a meeting point for all kind of people: Revolutionaries, planning their next activities, foreigners from Eastern European countries with other intentions and the usual tripolitanians who just wanted to relax while having a "Capucino". Mouad can tell many stories of these interesting times. However, he is happy having survived with his business, and these days the place gets crowded every day after lunch again.
He does have a lot of competition these days, as more and more coffee shops open - but they will need a lot of time to get an O2 reputation.
